Members at First Presbyterian Church Columbia live Christ's mandate for social justice by caring for the hungry, homeless, neglected, abused, strangers, sick, and others with special needs.
“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25, 41
We are active in ministry through volunteer work locally, nationally and internationally. We also provide financial support for the community service work of 15 different local agencies as well as sponsored missions and missionaries of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen
Please consider helping with Loaves and Fishes. There is always a sign-up board in the Welcome Center or you can call the church office.
We are feeding more and more people, including more women and children, at the new location. We serve the meal from 5:00 – 6:15, with clean-up taking about 30 minutes afterwards. You can drop off your food at our church, the Wilkes Boulevard Church, or prepare it at either church. Contact Ruth Thompson or Kay Metcalf if you have questions.
Church members and friends are invited to join our active volunteer projects working within the local community, national and internationally.
