Presbyterian Women
Forgiven and freed by god in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnessed to the promise of God's kingdom.
We are the women of First Presbyterian Church. We have 8 different groups that meet for Bible study, mission, crafts, and fun. Plus we have a new online Bible study coming this fall. We have a group that will fit your busy schedule. For more information about visiting a group, please contact Chrissy Jones at 573-999-4444.

Bring your knitting, crochet, scrap books, or other craft projects, and we will learn together. There will be coffee and rolls. A donation of $2.00/per person will go towards scholarships to the PW Women's Gathering, 2012.
Circles & Groups
These groups meet at various times during the month at members' homes and at church, and most are studying the PW Bible study: Dispatches to God's Household: The General Epistles by Nancy Benson-Nicol.
West Side Girls
This group meets the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 p.m at the home of Chrissy Jones (442-1164). This group will be studying The Bad Girls of the Bible this fall. Childcare is available.
If you would like to join one of the circles/groups, we encourage you to try out a few different groups to find the one that is the best “fit” for you.

Presbyterian Women ask “Did you know”?
There are currently about 121,000 people in central and northeast Missouri identified as “food insecure” by the USDA – which means they don’t always know where their next meal is coming from.
Kids – Nearly 55,000 children qualify for free or reduced price school lunches.
Working Poor – The working poor comprise more than 70 percent of those receiving assistance from food pantries. The vast majority of these don't receive food stamps or government cash assistance, and earn less than $950 per month.
Elderly – The elderly continue to be the fastest-growing group in need of assistance due to fixed incomes and rising medical expenses.
You Can Help— One dollar = 11 meals or will provide $15.00 worth of food the food bank can buy through their suppliers. There will be an envelope located at the Welcome Center Kiosk for your $1 donation. Think of how many people we can help if everyone donated just $1.
