Visions of Hope: New Spanish Immersion Preschool

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. By faith, our ancestors received approval; by faith, we understand that the worlds were created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things unseen." (Hebrews 11:1–3)

Faith is moving forward in hope, believing that what God is stirring within your heart will, in time, come into reality—even when no visible signs are present. And in beautiful ways, we’ve begun to see visible fruits of hope right here within our church community! This month, we celebrated the launch of a Spanish Immersion preschool within our Early Childhood Development Center. The school began on November 4th, marked with a joyful Ribbon Cutting by members of the Chamber of Commerce in honor of this new non-profit organization.

I had a wonderful conversation with the board of directors about their vision for this program—a place where children who speak Spanish at home and those who speak English at home can come together and enrich each other’s learning experiences. My own daughter, Abigail, is so excited to meet new friends each day, and she comes home brimming with stories. It’s incredible to watch her English skills grow as she also starts picking up Spanish. Seeing her growth firsthand is a powerful reminder of how language and community can bring people together and create understanding. Recently, Abigail’s been learning about trees and how they bear fruit and seeds—a beautiful symbol for this new partnership and the growth we’re seeing in our community.

As we welcome this new program, we also prepare to say farewell to Encircle, which will be relocating to a Woodhaven facility in January. While they’re excited to have a space of their own, leaving our church building—their home on our youth floor and in the Lighthouse—is bittersweet for all involved.

I’ll be working with our realtor to find a new use for these offices as they become available. And as these relationships evolve, may we keep our eyes open and our hearts full of hope for all that God is nurturing within our building and throughout our community. As your pastor, I am deeply moved by the spirit of innovation in these two organizations, each promoting kindness, joy, and dignity within our community. We are truly blessed to witness such vibrant growth, guided by faith and hope.
